Men's Singles Open Rules

These terms are to be used in conjunction with BVGC Men’s Section General Terms of Competition.
The BVGC Men’s Singles Open is open to entries from amateur Male Members and Visitors with a valid Handicap Index and affiliated to a registered Golf Club.
The competition will be played over 18 holes of stroke play from the white tees and will be limited to a maximum playing handicap of 28.
Players should report to the registration desk at least 20 minutes before their allocated tee time and report to the starter on the 1st tee 5 minutes before their tee time. Players who are late for their tee will be given a two shot penalty. Any player who is 5 or more minutes late for their tee time will be disqualified from the competition.
Players should exchange scorecards on the 1st tee and when scores have been verified and cards signed at the end of the round, enter their own score in the IG app (members) or at the touchscreen in the clubhouse entrance hall (members and visitors).
Measuring devices may be used to gauge distance only.
Ready golf applies if safe to do so.
Players should note any local rules conveyed to them by the starter.
The main prizes will be awarded to the best 6 nett scores and the best 3 gross scores. Players will only be able to win one main prize, with the better prize being awarded. Ties will be decided with a card countback in the order of best back 9,6,3 or 1. A prize presentation will take place in the clubhouse as soon as possible after the last group has recorded their scores.
There will be prizes for nearest the pins and a two’s sweep is also included in the entrance fee.
